Rocking My World Friday..on a wet Saturday....Bank Holiday Double Issue

I fully intended to have this post up yesterday but to be honest I was feeling meh. Don't know why just was.

Anyhoo....on to the good stuff!

Much crafting has been done.....

More journal pages....

And one LO......

The sketch for this came from Carnets de Scrap and was a great way to use up the scraps of Basic Grey's "Max and Whiskers"...scraps are all I have left of this wonderful collection.

I'm working on a couple of mixed media canvases and........I've started my Christmas cards ....and (whisper it) my Christmas shopping.....

Other gratefuls...

A great night out seeing "Rock Stewart"....sadly the combination of dancing and heels meant I woke up last Saturday with a trapped nerve in my back....only thing to do was rest so I missed a theatre trip.....but I did get to see the Man Utd match... :)

Talking of TV...I have finally discovered Hochanda.....saw some of  Andy Skinner's shows and some Indigo Blu.....yet another place to buy crafty goodness....eek!!

Apart from Hochanda I am still only watching football and cricket.....I gather I'm missing out on the hotness that is Rufus Sewell.....sigh.

Strictly starts a new series this evening......Autumn is well and truly on the way.....

My reading for review continues....this week I have been promised a hardback copy of one of the books I reviewed for Netgalley (they liked the review and the fact that I said I'd buy it for friends or family) and another publisher has "auto approved" me....this means I have instant access to all their books on Netgalley....I'd love to say this was saving me money ....hah! I'm still buying books for my Kindle...my TBR pile is growing!

The pack continues to entertain me...Peanut was groomed this week and is looking very svelte....and the kittens are such fun...

Today we were supposed to be going to Sonfest (music festival) in one of Southport's parks ....but it's pouring down so the Meet Up has been cancelled.

Tomorrow is a canal walk followed by Sunday lunch in a pub....if it's still raining...we'll just go straight to the pub! lol

That's it for this week...off to link up to Virginia....see you next time xx

Rocking My World Friday..on Sunday..double issue

Lots of gratefuls this time as I have two weeks to report on.

My first is family...it was lovely to see my brother and SIL plus my nephew and his three children last weekend.
I hadn't seen the youngest since he was a baby.. he's now four and is my brother's mini me.

We had some lovely meals out, so I didn't have to cook, and the children had  fun in the games room playing table football....as well as visiting the fun fair and walking the dogs in the park...thank goodness for nice weather.

I had planned for Wolfie to stay with friends as we didn't know how he'd react to children....in the end there was no need as he was re-homed!!! He's now with a family in Preston.....and I'm working on the "no news is good news" principle.
It also meant I actually got to watch some of the Olympics over the weekend.

The house seems very quiet.....beautifully so...the kittens are now allowed the run of the house (you'd think they were elephants from the noise they make on the stairs..lol) and Princess Peanut is adjusting to being the only dog here.

Next are friends who drop in for coffee and a chat..such a change from where I used to live....and, even better, friends who drop in and suggest a walk...Peanut appreciated this as she got to see the ducks in the park.

Quiz night is next....it was our monthly visit to The Imperial, newly renovated and all of three mins walk from my house.
There were 11 of us so we split into two teams....I was in the team of five...raised some eyebrows when I knew the name of the dog in Family Guy (it's Brian in case you were wondering).
We tied for first place with 84 points....that means a tie-breaker and I was chosen to answer it....I actually got it right...just don't ask me how I knew it....the question was.."In what year was the first Little Chef restaurant built in the UK?" 1959 is the answer...
I think I must have heard this in a pub quiz down south and the answer stuck..

Unexpected mail is wonderful!
I received this book from Kristina (Nick's girlfriend)...they had some copies in their office to give away and I was the first person she thought of.....

Nick was in London this weekend visiting her......

And finally....the joy of crafting....more art journalling and another canvas...

I was playing with new stamps from Woodware and Viva Las Vegas Stamps.

I'm off to link up with Virginia now. Hope you've all had a good week. xx

Rocking My World Friday...on Sunday

Oops! Two days late...sorry!

Blame my craft room...time really does get away from me in there.

That room is my #1 reason for being grateful this week. After a third week of being virtually housebound it has stopped me going stir crazy.

Here are the results:

Two canvas boards and two journal pages. The second journal page was inspired by the new Craft Stamper magazine.

My second grateful is the move I made last year. I love my house and I love Southport.

Next are my friends...both online and in the flesh. I actually have a social life!!

Family are up next...I'm getting visitors next weekend...all six of them (well, I do have the room now!). My brother and SIL are bringing my nephew and his three children to stay. I haven't seen the youngest, Austin, since he was a baby...he's now four and is my bro's mini me!

And last but not least...music.
This week's art work was brought you by The Sixties Album....I may not remember which room I left my reading glasses in but I remember every single word of these songs...on all. three. CD's.

I shall report back on my visitors next time...which means I'll be posting on Sunday...again!

Off now to link up with Virginia. xx

Me and My Craftroom

My craft room may have taken nine months to sort but it was worth it.

It's amazing how much time I have for crafting ....that's because the only TV I've watched since New Year has been either football or cricket.....I still have Christmas programmes to watch...sigh...

This is all because of Wolfie, aka The Hound From Hell. He arrived in December and I did not expect him to still be here...he was one year old on Friday and is now too big and too strong for me to cope with. He is also destructive and needs constant monitoring....hence no TV in the evenings. The last dog I fostered and re-homed was only with me for two weeks....  :(

But I digress.

I have finally been able to complete some LOs of my house....I've been here just over a year and still love it!

I used Toga papers for the outside view

Prima "Stationer's Office" papers, stamps and embellishments for the Craft Room

My autumn 2015 LO is a photo taken in Hesketh Park...5 mins walk from the house and very popular with dog walkers!

I have also been art journalling....trying to get to grips with it...I'm still much too heavy handed with the paints and sprays but I'll keep practising!!

This one made me chuckle..the notice says " This is only a temporary out of order sign until a permanent one can be printed"

And finally..a canvas board covered with a paper napkin, stencils, lace and embellishments added

I'm now going to go back up there...Wolfie will be in his cage so the kittens can run free....they too love my craft room...there are cardboard boxes to hide in and lots of things to knock over...plus wet paint and ink to dabble paws in...lol! Perhaps I should give them a canvas of their own to play with!

Until next time...probably Friday as I intend to get back to "Rocking My World" posts
